Former BONFIRE Bassist Looks Back On Band's Career
August 15, 2005Former BONFIRE bassist Jörg Deisinger is currently writing his memoirs and plans to release them as a book early next year. Although the book will delve into his formative years as a musician, Deisinger is calling it a "human interest" project rather than an autobiography, as it focuses primarily on the peak of BONFIRE's success in the late '80s.
The German band rose to fame with the international release of their second album, "Fireworks", in 1987. Before packing it in in 1992, they had toured extensively with ZZ TOP and JUDAS PRIEST in the U.S. and Europe and had the opportunity to work with such personallities as producer Michael Wagener and photographer Ross Halfin. Many of these experiences will be re-told in the as-yet-untitled book, including pictures from what Rob Halford referred to in a thank-you letter to Deisinger as "the greatest hazing PRIEST has ever received."
